The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. GGGI has been working with the Government of Rwanda since 2012 to achieve the country’s ambition of becoming a climate-resilient and low-carbon economy by 2050. As part of its Sustainable and Innovative Finance portfolio, GGGI has entered into a three-year partnership with the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning (MINECOFIN) and the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) to support the operationalization of the Climate Finance Department (CFD). The CFD is expected to significantly strengthen Rwanda’s climate finance architecture by fully embedding climate and nature priorities into national development planning and implementation, while mobilizing climate finance at speed and scale to deliver on the country’s ambitious climate objectives.
